Diamond – was born 3,3 billion years ago, it is reborn again on a beautiful woman.
Although diamond is the hardest of all substances, its structure is exceptionally simple. It is composed of normal carbon but is has a high melting point - 3 816° Celsius.
In the course of last centuries, the diamond has become unique gift of love. The title itself -diamond – comes from a Greek word adamas and means invincibility, e.g. in the sense of a never-ending love.

Concerning the evaluation of quality and value of diamonds, there are 4 basic criteria, e.g. 4 C:
One carat is divided into 100 points. The mass of stone is indicated in carats (1ct = 0,2 g). The higher the mass, the higher the value of stone.
Content of inner impurities, cracks, adulterants, bubbles. The lesser the impurities contained in a diamond, the more valuable it is.
Clarity classification:
IF – completely clear (under a magnifying glass after a tenfold magnification)
Vvs – very, very small adulterants;
Vs – very small adulterants;
Si – small adulterants;
Pi – explicit adulterants.
Diamond is a colourless material. Due to the admixture of a very small quantity of certain chemical elements it gains various colouring. There is a general rule: the whiter the diamond, the higher its price.
The classification of colourless diamonds according to norms is as follows:

Every cut has an exactly established number of facets. The most common is a classical brilliant cut – it has 57 facets. If the cut has optimum proportions, the stone shines out brilliancy and fire. There are other cuts - for example in the shape of a marchioness, an emarald, a small heart, an oval, a drop or a baguette. (It is possible to complete the pictures of the cuts from a brochure).
